Powered by Android 2.3, the X10 AirPad is equipped with a powerful 1.2 Ghz Rockchip 2918 Cortex A8 processor, has a brilliant color screen, 4 GB onboard memory (plus an additional 32 GB with microSD card, not included), a built in camera/video recording device, and access to more than 250,000 apps in the Android Marketplace. The AirPad will stand toe-to-toe with any other tablet on the market. Go ahead, compare the features. When you pencil it all out, you won't find a better tablet at a better price.

Q, do you have any first hand experience with the AirPad? After missing my opportunity with the TouchPad and almost going with a modded Nook I see this and it makes me hesitate.

I don't have first hand experience with this device - it is not yet available as far as I know. May be I will see it this weekend at IFA 2011

This device really does have a lot going for it and it is a fantastic little thing BUT … VIDEO CALLS DO NOT WORK.

It is inconceivable to me that video chat does not work with the x10 AirPad 7 especially when on the company’s website there is a specific mention that video chat with skype is a feature to expect; nevertheless, video calls with Google Talk and Skype simply do not work at all.

Why? The camera is a front facing camera … the only reason for a front facing camera is to do video chat … but this is not possible with the x10 Airpad.

Might have to do with software, not hardware
