Caution: Laptops Are Hot

With all the concerns about how hot these machines get, I thought this info would be appreciated...

This is why I call them 'Notebooks'....

I've owned quite a few powerful notebooks, and I would never run any of them on my lap, both for proper cooling of the laptop and of my genitals... :-)

haha funny... i was about to post the same thing! My friend had shown me that during class earlier today and we were all laughing histerically. one word: ouch.

I am not sure about this, but I believe that running a notebook on your lap when you are wearing clothes and such can cause esd (electrostatic discharge im sure most of you, being computer gurus and all) damage. Maybe not so much your clothes but more so the floor (carpet or rug). I have had experiences where I have turned on a notebook while it was on carpet and immediately after it turned on it shut down. I am not particularly concerned about this but if anybody knows more I'd be glad to hear it. Thanx in advance!

it's weird i expected it but mine doesnt get very hot
