Spotted at IFA 2011 this 2nd generation projector PicoPix PPD 2040 (sold under Philips name, but built by Sagercom) sports 80 Lumens compared to the 30 lumens of its predecessor PPX1430.

In simple terminology, it will provide 170% more light / brightness, meaning better projecting pics at low level darkness (1000:1 vs 500:1 contrast) on a 3m screen (diagonally measured)

Other characteristics compose of WVGA resolution(854 x 480 pixels) ; MP4 reader and integrated multi-formats ; FullHD files reader ; auto-correction of color when presented with different backgrounds; 150 minutes of battery performance (yes, no plug winknudge.gif ), SD card reader, 2GB of memory, speakers. It can be hooked onto a multitude of devices like iPad, notebooks, iPod, iPhone, camera, games consoles etc ...

Last but not least - a presence of an HDMI port!
