Change CPU and disable discrete GPU on HP ProBook

Hello,
I have HP ProBook 6540b with i5-430M CPU and discrete Radeon HD4550 GPU.
Is it possible, to change processor to i3-330M with integrated Intel HD Graphics and disable Radeon? I would like to do this, because I don't play games, and I have a lot of troubles with Radeon on Linux. Moreover, I like quiet.
I have i3 from friend, so... is it possible?

Is the Intel HD graphic part of the current configuration (switchable)? Check your BIOS setting, if not you can adjust power scheme to battery conservation.
