Acer Travelmate 4064WLMi

Hi I have had the above since purchased new for 6 years now and it has been an awesome machine all round. I have never had it repaired. The only thing I did recently was to add more RAM. I thought I would also buy another ACER when the time came to upgrade until recently. My sister bought an Acer notebook just over a year ago and it wasn't even out of its warranty when she has had major hassles with it ans still does.  Has rather put me off.

Now my question after all that is this: I want to put a bigger hard drive in my laptop. If I clone the current hard drive, to the new hard drive after formatting it, will it include the Acer eRecovery PQSERVICE partition? Apparently, Acer has said that if you put in a new hard drive, it won't include the eRecovery partition, but I thought if it was cloned off my hard drive, it would.

Thanks in advance.

Commercial cloning software would move the recovery partition over for sure, why don't you just give EASUS ToDo Backup (free) a try and see.

I am interested in reading a personal review of your good 6 years comp, if you would.

cheers ...
