Windows 8 Tablets will support Flash according to this blog, when users are in the desktop mode.

So what does this exactly mean?

- That Windows 8 will come in 2 versions - tablet and desktop - or will Microsoft still goes down the road of trying to have an OS that fits all?

- That Adobe is going to have to offer developers the possibility to encapsulate its flash based apps and running it as closed client with no external need of flash player installed on the systems, since Microsoft is being adamant about supporting only HTML5 going forward?

Interesting - Microsoft games modules from Vista/W7 will not run, but XP games (solitaire, minesweeper etc ...) modules run fine laugh4.gif

May be this is only for me ...

Router / cable connect issue - in conjunction with OpenDNS

. router off, comp starts up, router on - no problem
. router off, comp starts up, router on - no go

The trick? Not to use Windows 8, XP and Windows 7 comps perform fine laugh4.gif

Funny that this is only happening with cable connect, wireless connection is fine with Windows 8, regardless of router status.

Another concrete observation - battery lasts longer with Windows 8. My Sony Fe41S goes 24-30 minutes longer when on Windows 8 (comparing to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit)

a good win here

Well, they did something overnight ... processes are not being terminated properly, or not being terminated at all. Installers must now be invoked with administrative right or they will be stuck in a suspended state with no way of getting out of it, the process priorities are being grayed out .

Is it still too early for me to install this? I'm considering it and wondering about driver issues with steam and my nvidia graphics card.

Should i just wait and install Windows 7?

The builds are getting better, there are good days and there are bad days winknudge.gif - and if you would have any issues with drivers, then you'd have them in Windows 7 wink.gif

Internet Explorer 10 to bring browser-based auto-correct

Got a mistyped word? It'll change it for you automatically. If you don't like the change, you can hit CTRL+Z or bring up the context menu via SHIFT+F10 or the menu key.

If the last word you entered isn't something that appears to be an English word at first glance, then Internet Explorer will turn to the system-wide spell checker for suggestions:

You can try out these changes right now using Internet Explorer 10 in the Windows Developer Preview. One of the greatest features of it is the fact that your custom dictionary will sync via the cloud. If you're logged on with a Windows Live ID to a Windows workstation, you'll have your dictionary synchronized from any other Windows 8 PC you've logged into. Impressive, and very useful, especially if Microsoft adds this to Windows Phone 8.

To make the updating experience less intrusive, Windows 8 will consolidate all restarts to occur once a month with each security release. The change will reduce the number of unnecessary restarts and make the schedule predictable, as security patches are released on the second Tuesday of each month. To avoid leaving systems vulnerable to threats, however, security updates that address serious and imminent threats will bring an automatic restart immediately after download.

Windows 7 currently forces the automatic restart after just 15 minutes, leaving a small window for users to intervene. Windows 8 extends the automatic window to three days, while the notifications will be placed on the login screen rather than popping up when a user is logged in.

Epic Fail! Who knows what would happen to hardware and other software during the month wait - either you restart the bloody thing or you don't
