SATELLITE PRO S300-121 inverter plug new lcd ?

i purchased a new lcd that was supposed to fit my laptop however the little white inverter

plug was not the same shape although it had the two pin

the plug on left was on the original lcd the one on right is from the new lcd

and it does not fit, could i cut the new one in the center and then plug it in

the old lcd had printed on it LG LP154WX4(TL)(C9) the new one has B154EW02

I would go with another inverter as well, glossy vs matte screen - not always compatible
