what can I do if there's no sound,and sad to say that the cd drive for the computer was lost...thank you

What prompted the loss of sound and CD driver...did you possibly re-install the Operating System??? A little more info would go a long way

i was trying to update the driver but it says there that i should insert the cd..but i lost it,..tnx

There is another option on that update screen - search the net for appropriate driver - just click on that
