Hey everyone,
I'm in the market for a new laptop. I'm wanting some light and thin for easy portability, but no netbooks. I'm currently looked at the Dell XPS 15z and the HP Envy 14. I would like to have a display around 14 to 15.6". 6 gbs of mem, 500 gb 7200 rpm, long battery life are my minimums. I would love to have a blu ray if possible. I know its hard to put a blu ray in these super slim laptops which is why I'm also considering the HP dv6 and the Dell XPS 15. What I'm mainly using if for is every day stuff and multimedia, some video editing. Here is where I stand in my decision process on the main too I'm considering. I'm open to suggestions for other models as well:
HP Envy
Pros:
amazingly good looks
Beats audio
all metal construction
seems to report a long battery life
backlit keyboard
multifunction touchpad
cons:
low res screen
No blu ray
Dynamic switching with video cards isn't automatic. Must manually list individual apps for switch or manually switch
Dell XPS 15z
Pros:
all metal construction
Great resolution (1920 x 1080)
backlit keyboard
Better video card
Nvidia Optimus
long battery life
Cons
No blu ray
Audio quality?
Any suggestions or advice is great appreciated. The Envy 14's looks and Beat audio is a huge draw for me, but do I sacrifice the display for that? Also, neither have blu ray, but if I have to give that up for slimness, long battery life, great audio and video, I will.

Sony E series? And yes, Lenovo can be boring to own, but they last
