NX8220 , smart card problem

hi , I have  bought the above lappy , and its say please insert the card   , , I have tried to get into the bios , but i have no joy as it must be set to boot to the card reader first , any sugestions .

would taking the bios battery clear the problem ?

You can try, but I doubt it very much - time to send it back for repair

Ha , done some research and found that its a common thing to happen .

I need to try and re flow one of the big chips on the mobo .

I have also found out that if I put pressure on the mouse board while starting up , it fixes it .

I will try to reflow , im a first timer , so bare with me , it wont be happening today , too busy .

.anyway  can you please tell me if this is a IDE or a Sata lappy conpartment in my lappy

It depends, if this is for the NX8220 then the model comes with caddy and an adapter for the drive.

well , the caddy only has a metal bit on it with on adapter on the end . so I guess I need a new one

Yo, looking like you would need an adapter to the hard drive, or maybe not - try first with a sata drive and see. Got a used drive lying around?

yep , Iand its a no go with the sata .

so I must be a IDE then
