i have been looking at building my own computer on newegg and tigerdirect. I have some questions:
1) Would it be cheaper to buy the parts seperatley, instead of the whole kit?
2) A majority of the kits come with a Seagate drive. i heard that these aren't the best. do you think it would be OK, or would you recommend something else?
This would be my first time building a computer (and my first desktop). i am also not familiar with AMD processors since I have always used Intel, so I thought I would give amd a shot. i am looking for a cheap one (tight budget since I got to college, and would like to purchase a tablet soon!) any good ones you recommend?
here were some I was looking at:

I understand that the phenom is most likely the best route to go.
I currently have an intel I5 (quad core) Laptop (dell) with 6 gb of ram. i would use the desktop for multitasking, uploading/downloading, facebook/email, and music, and website design and some graphics editing. i understand that this isn't the best of all scenarios, but it gets experience on my hands at least, and i can mess around with networking. at worst case, i could do one thing at a time if i really have to...
thanks in advance.
