Ive had my Dell XPS for around 3 months and i can say its very solid and fast , i am thinking about upgrading the screen resolution 1600x900 to 1920x1080 .

Would i see a great difference in using Photoshop CS5 & Internet use , also i have a large photograph collection

Is it worth the upgrade ? Advice would be very greatful

The added benefit is huge in screen resolution.

Are you buying a new notebook?

I prefer large resolution screen myself, good for media related apps (CS5 in your case) - but I would recommend that you go to a shop and check the screens out first, then deciding if it's worth the upgrade. An external large screen monitor sometimes make more sense if you work at desk.

cheers ...

I understand that but what do you mean upgrading? Just literally changing the resolution by right clicking on your desktop? Or does your notebook's screen need to be completely replaced?
