Hello all! So, i've decided i finally want to replace my acer 7745g keyboard, but before doing so i thought i would post my problem on a notebook forum before spending money on a new keyboard.
Well, here's the problem about a month ago, not sure exactly what i was doing but I take it i was chatting/playing a game/skyping, not sure exactly what i was doing. Either way. My body felt like yawning and so i did, and as i stretch and decide to get back to keyboard stance i manage to hit a cup of water, spill a bit of water onto my keyboard. I dried it (yes it was only water)
About 1 to 2 hours after (after the water incident),a few keys started dying on me? Could it have been the water?
Would simply replacing the keyboard with a new one solve the problem?
Keys not working:
the last row: y,x,c,v,b,n,m,",",".", "-", both alt keys and i think both ctrl keys as well as the arrow keys and space
numpad:6 and 9 dead
so to sum it up, the last two rows seem completely dead, the middle row is partially dead.
So, uh! :) I guess i did a good job, not too proud of myself though.
Now there's something strange i would like to mention though. Whenever i press a key that works normally and then proceed to press the "a" key, the "a" button works. For instance, i click on "q" then i click on "a" i get "qa".
If i continue pressing the "a" button without first clicking another key before hand, it just doesn't work.
Yesterday the "n" as well as the "," key were working. However, only if i used them after each other. :P
Sorry if this is too much detail, but i thought i'd just lay it down all at once so everything's clear from the start.
Also, one more thing worth nothing is that i've already taken the keyboard out, wiped over the "wire" connected it to the mainboard again, no success.
Would a new keyboard possibly solve my problem?
