M17x R3 HD 6970m Core clock speed.

Hello

 

Does anyone know what what the stock HD6970m core clock speed is when fitted to an alienware m17x r3. Is it the standard AMD or do they change the factory clock speed?

Normally ATI HD6970 core clock is at 880-890MHz. For notebook fitting it is rarely that one sees the M card version going over 700MHz.

Alienware M17x R3 advertizes 680MHz with 960 stream processor in its configuration smile.gif

I don't know about the card inside the m17xR3 - but the HD6990M should be performing at 715MHz and 1120 Processing streams

The clocks are flashed to the GPU via the VBIOS, so they won't change based on what notebook they're in. But yes, 715/900 with 1120 shaders.
