I saw that thread when I did a search for the Samsung Series 7, but this is for the Series 7 Chronos. I think there are some major differences in the specs. Sorry about the confusion, I'll change the title.

No problem at all - the other thread is quite specific about a gaming model - yours is informative and covers the whole series headbang.gif

I just pulled the trigger on the NP700Z5A! After weeks of going back and forth about this laptop I decided to give it a shot. I ordered online from Best Buy for $1260, thinking that if it really isn't what I want I can at least return it to a store.

It's the top of the line model with the i7 2.2gig cpu, 8gig RAM, and 1 gig 6750, along with all the other specs.

I was seriously considering the newest 15" macbook pro, but for $2500 (after the upgrades I'd want, most of which are standard on the Samsung) I decided to try and save the $1200 and give the Samsung a try.

I've been reading different reviews about it from some European sites and they are mixed. Not about the performance, but about the screen quality. I'm looking for performance/form/mobility, and thought even with an only OK screen this would fit my requirements.

It will be my every day personal laptop so it will be used mostly for email, web, and some gaming. I'm hoping it will run SWTOR, Skyrim, and Diablo 3 at least at native res on medium or better.

It should arrive between Nov. 25-29 so hopefully I'll be able to write up a review by the end of the month.

Looking forward to your personal review. Have fun with the new comp

Update-

Best Buy has cancelled my order saying the product is not available. Now I'm seeing it available for about $50 more on the website. Well now I will place an order with Newegg for a much cheaper price, but will now have to wait until my card is refunded for the previous cancelled purchase.

What a pain, but it might work out for the best.

The info is a bit wrong about usb 2.0, it comes with usb 3.0, but it is with Intel HD 3000 integrated video. Do i need to worry about that it is integrated video for the task below?

The notebook will be used for multitasking (myltiple windows opened), internet browsing - with heavy flash content pages, watching movies and videos, also 1080p playback content? Generally it will be used for day to day basic things like that, some office and spreadsheets documents, rare but some image editing with Photoshop CS5 and maybe some lite games like NFS Underground 2. Will be that enough for that notebook and will be there any lag with those tasks?

Thank you!

Ditto. For me Amazon's more reliable than Best Buy.
