Aspire one zg5 will not boot.

Hi all, new here, looking for some help.

 

As per title, have an aspire one zg5, 8gb ssd version.  was running on Linpus.

 

On turning on, it runs through the usual bits, switches to the bue acer logo screen, then goes black with only a white cursor controlled X.    can do nothing more than this.

 

Have tried putting a new or clean o/s on have downloaded a copy of linpus on cd and on usb stick, and also tried ubuntu, but it does not do anything, have changed the boot sequence, but it just ploughs through the init checks, acer screen, then blank.

 

please can anybody help or advise?

Try with swapping out the ram modules, or taking one out at a time and see

oh-k...

 

ive opened the case.. taken the motherboard out.. but.. there is no ram module, as in, there is a traditional type single slot, but no module fitted..

 

the netbooks run ok for years.. so am assuming it has built in ram somewhere yeah?

The ram slot is next to the battery area - you should see a door/cover there -
