CMOS Checksum error, and BIOS Setup hangs

Hi,

I found members of the forum here are so helpful that I have a question with my pc, which is generally related to notebook. I apologise for posting here since the desktop forum is closed.

When my pc boots up, the following error displays:

cmos checksum error - default loaded

F1-continue, del-bios

After the display, sometimes, i can enter into bios setup, but it hangs after a few seconds, or screen text on bios becomes blurred. If it is cold powered on, I can enter bios setup; if I restart it by pressing the reset button, it seems it cannot detect cpu, hdr, and all components, and the screen is black.

If I try to boot windows, it hangs. I tried replacing a new battery, it doesn't work. If I changed the boot order, and save on bios. On next boot up, it displays express gate, and hangs. I have to reset battery to get into bios. The pc has been working since I assembled it years ago. I haven't performed bios update since then.

It can detect hd drive, dvd rom, memory.

Thank you in advance.
