KEYBOARD and mouse problem. AGAIN

(w870cu) cry.gif This is the second time this has happened. First time it just went away after a couple of days. (last year)

the MOUSE touchpad doesn't work at all
And the keyboard works but doesn't type properly, you have to type very slowly to get it to type, also if you hold down a certain key it will not repeat the keystroke like normal. Backspace nightmare.
Another thing that might not be related, the shortcut touch keys (email web etc) aren't lighting up.

This is not a software/driver problems (tested) and in BIOS/Setup same occurs with the arrow keys, very laggy.
Also I have checked the keyboard/keyboard ribbon everything seems fine apart from a couple of little rust marks on the back of the keyboard(Never spilled anything on it)

I must of got the only bad clevo out there, no one else seems to get these faults.

Times are hard and as always, help greatly appreciated.

last time I did nothing, it just started working after a couple of days.
If I get a new keyboard, what about the mouse not working?
When it broke before both keyboard and mouse didn't work.
are the two tied together somehow?

You can always take the keyboard and the touch pad apart and re-seating them. Back up your data also and give the comp a clean installation. Sometimes it would work, sparing the need for replacing the hardware. But it is normal that notebook parts do get worn out and failing, some have more muck than others.

There are also option of external keyboard and pad and mouse (not practicable when one is on the move)

Well I took it apart,
disconnected keyboard; mouse still didn't work.
disconnected mouse; keyboard still lagged.

Although after putting everything back I booted up, and mouse worked, but keyboard was still very laggy, like before. But after I rebooted again , mouse stopped working.

I did notice that one connector was broken(They must of left it broken after I sent it back to get it fixed with Clevo, there were some cosmetic issues: overheated and couldn't open screen)
This is the connector that is broken, know where I could get one from to fix it?

Pretty lousy job I saw winknudge.gif

Try searching for "Clevo/Sager Parts" on the net. The next best thing is to scrounge up somewhere a dead Clevo/Sager (your model) and salvaging the parts (keyboard and mouse pad) from it.
