I'm sorry if this doesn't belong in this topic, but I' new here :-( .
I have a big problem with newer drivers for my GT 540m gfx card (other specs - intel core i5, 4 GB RAM, 640 GB HDD, NO optimus technology), everytime I try to instal drivers newer than 280.26, I get black screen on boot (driver version 285.62). Well, everything works fine, after first restart, like the instalation of the driver suggests, but after that, it's dead. Black screen after windows loading and what's strange is that when I try to type in my user password, I can hear that it works and I'm sure everything else does too. If I put the notebook in sleep mode, then it works after booting. If I want to get past this issue, I have to boot the computer in safe mode, uninstal and reinstal the driver.
I tried installing several other drivers (including betas) with no luck. Even uninstaling every nvidia software doesn't help... I purchased Battlefield 3 yesterday and without these drivers, I can't play it, which sucks... Any help will be apreciated, thx.
