DM4T-2100 - no turbo boost?

Hey guys,

I just purchased a dm4t (well its actually a dm4x when i purchased because it has an i5-2430 but the model on the laptop says dm4t which is the previous model limited to the i3 processor).

Anyways, as advertised on HPs website, the 2430 comes with turbo boost (

2nd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2430M Processor (2.4 GHz, 3MB L3 Cache) Turbo Boost to 3.0 GHZ))

. It was not installed, so i went to intels website, downloaded, and tried to install but i get the following error message: Installation cannot continue because this computer does not have a processor with Intel Turbo Boost capability.

I cannot see any settings in the BIOS for turbo boost. Any ideas

Thanks so much!

Matt

If there is no setting in BIOS to activate the Turbo Boost functionality then nothing you can do about it but to contact HP for further information, a possible of BIOS update of some sort

So i spoke with HP tech and the tech confirmed that the dm4x does not ship with turbo boost even though their website states it does. Wtf? So they are basically falsely advertising and hoping people don't figure it out?

They use the general Intel information which is true for the CPU like many other manufacturers it is up to each of them in the end to make sure that their models support the functionality - still, it is quite misleading thumbdown.gif
