Microphone Problems...

Thread Starter

Before I explain my problem, I should say I'm not the best with computers so try and reply in simple terms please :)

I'm using Turtlebeach X11 headset

Aurora desktop, standard spec which I got last September

Basically, I've been getting huge static through my front mic, which I can hear myself in my speakers, but is a nightmare for people I call on skype, or when using ventrillo. I first checked through everything Turtlebeach and there was no fix there. After unplugging the headphones, I noticed that for some reason there was still very high output in the front mic.

Any suggestions on how to get rid of this static, as well as the volume changes which accompany it would be greatly appreciated.

Echo in the line is a hard rabbit to chase after - internet connection quality plays an important role.

Saying all that, I would personally try with different headsets (cheap one works best for just Skype and chatting), take a look at the recording properties (system tray audio icon - right click) and play around with the mic boost setting and sound input

cheers ...
