It says to check the contoler card..Does any one have the same problem..I also have a disk drive on USB and have the XP install on USB dive.So both will not find the drive. How do you guys get it to install.

What is the Gateway model that you have? What is the drive type you were trying to install, PATA, SATA, IDE etc ...?

HI

My computer is a gateway notebook LT2802u  the drive is a segate 500gig. I have USB disk drive and a USB pen drive they both have XP on them ( a register copy) So the problem I have is a blue screen which says it can't find the configure, card info. Do I need to run f6 and install drivers for this SATA drive.or tell my BIOS to call it a IDE drive..XP runs fine until it gets old.

Any help would be fine.

Thanks

Rich

Easiest way is to have BIOS calling it as IDE drive. After it is all done, you can turn on AHCI with some simple tweaks.

You might want to limit the size of the drive partition to 120GB and try XP again as mentioned above
