1600x900 vs 1366x768 resolution - performance when all other spec's remain the same.

Hi

I am looking for a gaming laptop on a budget and found a local brand called 'Mecer'. I was able to put together a laptop with these specs in my budget:

Processor: Intel i5-2410M Dual Core 2.3GHz (Sandy Bridge)

RAM: 4gb of 1333mhz

Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GT 540M with 1gb dedicated DDR3 memory and Nvidia optimus with intel HD 3000 shared graphics

I can get this configuration with a 1600x900 (17.3'') or a 1366x768 (15.6'') screen. How much of a difference will the screen size make to gaming performance? I would rather have a smaller screen if the graphics will be significantly better but I'm not sure how much difference it will make. Does anybody have an opinion on this??

Thanks :)

15.4" 1600x1050 is a good screen for gaming, my personal preference.

Unfortunately they only have the 1366x768 in 15.6". Do you think games will run much slower on the 17.3" screen compared to the 15.6"?

I don't think you can tell the difference, especially when the 17" screen resolution is 1600x900

cheers ...
