All right, here it is:

1. Which brand SSD are you considering for your next upgrade? Intel, OCZ, Crucial, Kingston, Patriot Memory, Samsung, or other?
I've recently bought my first SSD... Haven't received it yet... Bought a Kingston V100 series because it was the cheapest with at least 64Gb.

2. What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements?
It depends... For my last build, an HTPC, reliability isn't a factor since everything is streamed from a server, and nothing else than OS and application is stored on it. Reason for going with an SSD? Performance of course, and importantly in an HTPC, quiet and cool!

So I love SSD for their quietness, and because they generate much less heat in a small build. But of course, the major factor is price, since reliability is not something I'm looking for at these prices...

If we forget the price, my main concern would be reliability, and in second, performance... Brand is not a factor to me, as long as the reviews on a particular product are good!

1. Brand - Intel or Corsair, at the moment. might change when i do eventually upgrade or build my new computer.

2. Selection - Performance and reliability, then price for the size

1. Brand: Intel (after owning over a dozen OCZ Vertex and Vertex 2's, I am done with OCZ).
2. Selection: Performance. Performance. Performance at any price.

1.Which brand SSD are you considering for your next upgrade? Intel, OCZ, Crucial, Kingston, Patriot Memory, Samsung, or other?
OCZ & Intel only, but if price cheap, I don't mind consider other reputable brand such as SanDisk. Currentl using 160GB Intel SSD Gen 2. Happy with it so far.

2.What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements?
My priority is like this:
  1. Price
  2. Capacity
  3. Brand
  4. Durable (IOPS)
  5. Performance

Good luck! Winner will be randomly selected after 12/31/11. Only replies with answers to all of the questions will be considered for entry. Qualifying entries must reside in either US or Canada (excluding Quebec).

I want the intel brand it's the leader in performance.
I look for performance in a ssd but as yet have not been able to afford to make the jump.

Crucial or Intel

Price and Performance. Brand doesn't matter so much unless the brand has a bad reputation for quality.

Cheers!

Looking to buy a Crucial 120-240GB SSD for my HP DV6-3143 laptop, Intel's are out currently out of my budget.

2.What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements?

1st price, 2nd brand, last performance.

1.Which brand SSD are you considering for your next upgrade? Intel, OCZ, Crucial, Kingston, Patriot Memory, Samsung, or other?
Crucial. - I've only had one SSD so far, but I bought it based on rating and on my history with Crucial. I've been immensely satisfied with EVERY Crucial product I've purchased. I hear good things about Intel, but they've always been too high priced for me.

2.What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements?
Price and Brand, really.
Price is a huge factor right now, but it's not the only one. Brand is the first thing I will look at usually.
When it comes to SSD's, if your only comparison is to spindle drives performance wise, they ALL win out.

1.Which brand SSD are you considering for your next upgrade? Intel, OCZ, Crucial, Kingston, Patriot Memory, Samsung, or other?

Answer: Well considering that I've never bought or owned a SSD yet, probably the most reliable brand available.

2.What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements?

Answer: I would have to say a combination of reliability, performance, and price. Since the SSD drives cost much more than a HDD, I want a SSD that will last me a long time before I have to replace it.
