1.Which brand SSD are you considering for your next upgrade? Intel, OCZ, Crucial, Kingston, Patriot Memory, Samsung, or other?

I like Intel and OCZ, both seem to be reliable brands for SSDs and pretty good value compared to other brands.

2.What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements?

Mostly price - they're all much faster than my current hard drive is. The brand doesn't matter too much as long as they've got a good warranty smile.gif

I look for a combination of Price and Performance.

Both Intel and Samsung. Awaiting feedback from friends who have both.

2.What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements?

Performance (as everyone else mentioned, reliability is really the top demand).

Intel, Crucial, and possibly Samsung, OCZ

2.What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements?

Reliability (why wasn't that in the original question?), Performance and Price; in that order.

1. I have considered OCZ but it looks like the field continues to change. I am open on brand.
2. I have to consider price followed by reliability. Of course I continue to drool over performance.

I'm running Samsung (3x 256gb PM800), Crucial (256gb m4) and OCZ (2x 120gb Solid 3). While I did look at many i came down to cost + space + performance for me. Pay an extra 33% for 10% more performance wasn't cost effective. I'm hoping the prices start dropping more once production scale ramps up further.

2.What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements? Price then performance then brand. I'm not a nerd fanboi cheerleader, so I really don't care what label is on the outside, as long as the tech specs + price meet my needs that is good enough.

1. Kingston, Intel have been rock solid for me. I'd stick with them.
2. reliability, then performance, then price. Doesn't matter about the last two if the drive goes flaky or data gets corrupted.

Most likely OCZ. At work we've had 6 Kingston SSD drives die in the last year.

2. What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements?
Price and performance.

1. I prefer a brand name I'm most familiar with: Intel, Kingston, or Samsung

2. Combination: High performance is crucial, but brand name is very important, as well. If there is an outstanding price, I will research the product and see if there have been positive reviews.

1. Definitely considering Intel.

2. The performance and reliability are the main things I would look for in a SSD.
