OCZ, Kingston and Intel
Price, performance and reliability
1. G.Skill
2. Price

1: Both Intel and OCZ are great! Im kinda Intel fan, though. I would prefer Intel hardware, because of my past experience with Intel. I've got this old Pentium 4 HT, which is still a perfect CPU. If they implement this good stuff in their SSDs, they must be really darn fast...

2: I like speed, that's why I like Intel, we share the same ideas!

1.Which brand SSD are you considering for your next upgrade? Intel, OCZ due to my past experiences with Intel and OCZ's reputation

2.What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements? I am a self proclaimed "Bargain Hunter" but performance is King and I am willing to pay for "MORE POWER". Brand names mean little to me as long as they are not a sketchy brand I have never heard of....

1.Which brand SSD are you considering for your next upgrade? Intel, OCZ, Crucial, Kingston, Patriot Memory, Samsung, or other?

A: OCZ
Why? OCZ seems to take their products and go that extra step that gives them the qualities gamers and power users look for.

2.What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements?

A: A combination of Price, Reliabilty(#1), and Performance. Brand is is minor concern, but it will have to be one of the major manufacturers.

Intel
Ocz

I want speed. Speed.
And a little reliability.
Hate reinstalling windows.
Price matters last.
Oh just the looks of that thing would make me get it.

1)Intel, I already have a 320 SSD
2)reliability , performance and customer support. Intel has a great customer support and the 320 SSD have 5 years warranty.

I'm really open to any brands right now. I know that Intel and Samsung have "name recognition" but that doens't always mean it's the best!

2.What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements?
Considering my first answer, always performance and price first!

This is an awesome contest!

All are good brands, but I'd probably have to go Intel. They haven't steered me wrong yet.

Personally, if I'm going for a SSD, then I'm obviously going for performance. I want something that's going to run fast and cool.

1. At the moment I am considering ocz, intel, and samsung in that order, though I have not ruled out any other brands.

2. I wish I could make a decision based only on performance but price would be my major deciding factor right now. As other posters have said, reliability is another factor, which probably as much as price has kept me from purchasing one yet. Brand has little impact on me in the sense of loyalty, but I do look at brand in the sense of performance/reliability to establish quality of a product and so it too affects my decision.

Merry Christmas and God Bless!

1) While my next upgrade won't be for about a year (purchased - however a freebie would be great smile.gif, I will consider any of the brands mentioned. However, since I currently have an OCZ and have not had any problems, should that continue, they will will be in the drivers seat unless someone provides a slammin' deal.

2) When selecting anything, I first decide on an approximate price range - for an SSD I would probably start around 3 bills. Performance is the next criteria to trim the field. From there its a combination of reviews and reliability.

One thing of note: if Poor Customer Service seems to be a trend in reviews - that company will immediately be eliminated! They will not even be considered regardless of price.

I'm thinking Maybe Corsair, decent reviews.

Definately price and performance are what I consider

I just started buying parts for my Xmas present last night, a new gaming/development build.

I have not bought the SSD yet. I was planning on going with the OCZ Vertex 3 Series – MAX IOPS Edition but am open to suggestions.

My thoughts on this drive are 1)SATA 6GBS 2)Editor's Choice 3)Good size for price (for an SSD) right now with rebate.
