"Which brand SSD are you considering for your next upgrade? Intel, OCZ, Crucial, Kingston, Patriot Memory, Samsung, or other?"

Intel, interestingly enough, seems to have cornered the market on SSDs for speed and quality. that's what brand i would go with.funny that they're the brand being given away!

"What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements?"

if you are buying an SSD HDD, it is because you like the premise of the SPEED increase (let's face it: the price per GB is not all that attractive). while many people will be buying a cheap one, i plan on going all out and getting a 320, since the 710 is overkill for my needs. though i guess i won't NEED to if i win this one! i was planning on only getting the 80GB one, but a 120GB would make it that much better :)

1. OCZ. Intel is too plain jane.

2. I like to maximize performance for a good price.

1.Which brand SSD are you considering for your next upgrade? Intel, OCZ, Crucial, Kingston, Patriot Memory, Samsung, or other? I am considering another Intel SSD, as I too have had great luck with the 2 previous models I've used.

2.What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements? I am looking for a combination of price and performance. Also, I am looking for reliability, though that is not listed in the choices from the question.

1) Crucial, for their nice m4.

2) Price... and RELIABILITY. I know that isn't an option, but it shouldn't be overlooked.

2) Reliability, price, and speed

1. Intel or Crucial.

2. Reliability, performance, and price. In that order for now, however I'd expect that in the next few years price would jump up that order.

1) Intel or Crucial
2) Performance / Reliability (at a reasonable price)
#1 - Intel

#2 - A combo of the 3.

1. Intel or Crucial
2. Reliability on the road. I do a lot of travel and I've had failed hard drives on the road and it's nearly impossible to fix such a thing while in a hotel room (even with a full image backup of my hard drive on an external drive). SSD's just don't have the same pitfalls to spinning disks.

* intel and ocz honestly. both have had great reviews.

2.What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements?

* at this moment, price. since im happy with the 10k drive i use for my OS and crucial programs, the SSD isnt that much of an upgrade, so price is a big factor when considering this upgrade.

1. I've been looking at OCZ

2. I put a lot of emphasis on performance however price is a close second.

1.Intel or Kingston mainly

2. I am looking for performance and price, a balance of both. Intel and Kingston have served me well in the past and that's the kind of reliability i need.

1.Which brand SSD are you considering for your next upgrade? Intel, OCZ, Crucial, Kingston, Patriot Memory, Samsung, or other?
OCZ because of their good price/performance ratio combined with solid support. This is based on my personal experience with OCZ and their products, even after RMAing many defective SSD's. They stand by their products.

2.What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements?
Price: Being a university student price is always a factor but losing my data or rmaing every couple of months would be inconvenient at the least.
Performance: The only specs I'm worried about are iops higher than 10k and random reads/writes. Sequential performance on all current gen ssd's far exceeds traditional HDD's and should be of little concern to the average user.
Brand: I am very fickle when it comes to SSD brands. There is no real brand loyalty for me. My money goes to the company with the best value (price to performance) at the time that meets my needs. In the past, OCZ has beat out the rest.

All that being said Intel is known for having the most reliable SSD's in the business. However, their prohibitive price point makes them hard for someone on a tight budget to justify purchasing. I would love to get my hands on an intel SSD for new years!
