Lol this competition sure fizzled... no one has any clue what is happening... the person running it should def have updated the original post with the winners name, that way we actually know there was a winner as opposed to the current situation where I feel a little suspicious about the whole thing.

Maybe it's a drive they're testing over on Xtreme Systems and they haven't quite cranked the MWI down to 0 yet. laughing.gif

It would be GREAT to win this. I have a rebuilt server that is now my desktop and the only thing keeping this beast from rocking anything I throw at it is the latency of my 1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD. This would end that ASAP!

Has there been any explanation from "management"? That there has been none could only mean ...a) it is a scam to get you on this site for some reason and there never was to be any drawing, b) the management are no longer available, perhaps meeting met their fate somehow? How long are you guys going to hang on afraid to say anything negative lest it hurt your chances in the big drawing.

The contest is being run by Huddler, the folks who host the site. They contacted me to let me know they were close to picking a winner, so when they let me know, I'll announce the winner here. I apologize that the process is taking so long.

If they have to take time to "choose" a winner, it isn't random to me... Seems they are combing through each post to see who has the "best" answer that makes its sponsor Intel look good... confused.gif

Either way -- free is free, so we shouldn't be complaining. Even if they DO decide to cancel this whole thing, it's not like ANYONE has a RIGHT to a new SSD... This privileged "me me me mine gimme gimme" attitude that pervades society today just HAS to go... No one on here OWES you anything, and if you don't win, it's not like you've lost anything in the process. Yeesh... rant.gif

honestly, this sounds perfectly reasonable. when giving away goods, you do want to make sure youre awarding the random person chosen the prize, not someone who entered on 20 alts and one got selected.
