Did the "rules" say that you muiltple entries were not allowed? I always buy multiple lottery tickets.
This is becoming very amusing.... and the web site credibility is goosey.... they might need to come up with funds to pay for the SSD award.
Why don't we create our own lottery - everyone chip in 20 bucks and have a drawing.

Unsubscribing. This site is a joke and all I've received is excess spam since I replied to their initial ploy about this SSD. Once I prove the spam stemmed from this, I'll be making enough money to buy a few SSDs.

Good riddance.

Too bad. Your so-called spam mails probably come from threads/posts subscription for notices.

cheers ...

This is what I was talking about... No one owes you anything, yet you have this attitude that suddenly it is taking longer than YOU want it to, so you get mad. Where does it say in the rules that they would "choose the winner on jfoster's timetable"? Nowhere. This is a free contest that is being offered as something to give back to the members. If you want the "SPAM" to stop, just change your options so it isn't sending you subscriptions to where you post. Pretty simple.

Good things come to those who wait! Heck, a lot of contests don't choose a winner for months! Too many expect instant gratification these days... Calm down, take a deep breath, and let things run its course.

Moreover, it's not NBF that's holding this contest. It's Huddler, the people who hosts the site and provide the forum software. They are also the one who will choose the winner.

This site is worth it's weight in gold for all the experience, insight, and tech advice it holds for anyone who is having trouble with their laptop. I come here from time to time to browse for help with the occasional hiccup I may have with one of my family's machines, and although I have never had to post a help request, I value the existence of this forum, and many others like it. You want an SSD drive that badly? Go buy one! Some people seem to feel so entitled these days...My two cents, don't lose sight of why this site is here!

this isnt the lottery and we are not paying for a chance to win.

ShnikeJSB, I agree with you. And I feel compelled to reply.

I have actually won something in a contest like this on a forum. I was so surprised. In fact, it required answers to 5 or so questions. And I /guessed/ at a couple of the answers! Somehow I got all the answers correct and was selected in the random drawing of those with all the correct answers.

It was cool finally winning something like this. So I'm glad to enter other contests knowing that I'll get some extra email. Deal with it. The "spam" is now coming for those complaining about this "enter to win". Stop complaining and just wait--or get off this forum. I don't want to hear you complaining.

The TOS of the forum clearly states under "Restrictions on Use": "You agree that you will not:...11. Register multiple accounts."

Thus if you created alternate accounts to enter for this contest you are in violation of the TOS and deserve to be hit with the ban hammer. IMHO you should also be removed from the pool of candidates for the competition. Why? How many forum alts did you create to enter this contest?

I created zero alternative ids/accounts for this. I did respond multiple times which is not the same thing which is not what you are saying. IS IT?

Nice, the rules say the winner will be randomly selected after 12/31/11, so there's nothing that says prohibits them from waiting indefinitely to announce the winner. However, the longer they wait, the more janky the contest looks.
The winner has now been selected and we are just waiting on him or her to respond to either the PM or the e-mail I just sent. As soon as the winner responds, his or her forum name will be announced on the first post of the thread as well as in a new post here. Thank you all for participating!

Thank you All!

Yes, pics and a little review is the least I can do. I have a Sager NP8760 waiting to give this little SSD a new home.
