1.Which brand SSD are you considering for your next upgrade? Intel, OCZ, Crucial, Kingston, Patriot Memory, Samsung, or other?
I would consider OCZ mainly because they are known as the cheapest SSD maker with pretty good performance. The reliability is a concern it seems with many of OCZ products.

2.What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements?
When looking for an SSD the main concern as for many will be price and performance. Not many have cash to throw away and when looking for an SSD you are mainly looking for performance. Whatever strikes a good balance but considering many SSDs have really good performance even the lower end ones, price is the biggest factor.

I have never owned an SSD before but having one would be absolutely awesome.

1.Which brand SSD are you considering for your next upgrade? Intel, OCZ, Crucial, Kingston, Patriot Memory, Samsung, or other?

Corsair, Intel, OCZ, based on current products. It could change if their quality declines.

2.What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements?

Reliability, Support, Performance, Price, in that order.

No matter how cheap it is, or how fast it is, a hard drive is useless if it doesn't actually work...

1.Intel
2:Brand, reliability

1.Which brand SSD are you considering for your next upgrade? Intel, OCZ, Crucial, Kingston, Patriot Memory, Samsung, or other? I would look at OCZ and Kingston as I have used both in the past

2.What do you look for when selecting an SSD? Price, Performance, Brand - or a combination of these elements? My primary concern is price followed by performance.

Thanks!

1. Brand of SSD I'm considering: Intel

Reasoning: Reliability. SSD is a newer storage medium and is not completely ironed out yet. Intel seem to be ahead of the curve so I would rely on them for the best tested and reliable product, currently.

2. What am I looking for: Price/Performance

Reasoning: SSD drives are *expensive!!*. Finding the perfect balance between Performance (&reliability) and Price is difficult, and economic times are not the most forgiving to fork out $300 for a small (yet VERY fast) drive. For me, at least.

Is this over? I just got the email today. And it was really a mess, a lot of code, had to look for the message. The SSD would be cool, heard of them, but never seen one.

I am considering an Intel SSD

Mainly because if I'm going to spend the extra money on an SSD and then pay a premium for an Intel SSD, I want the device to last. Intel SSDs seem to have the best reputation for durability a reliability.

1: Intel
2: Performance and Reliability

1. I'm considering Intel because the 320 series has great reviews. It seems reliable and at a competitive price point.

2. I first look at price and then I look at speeds, but most of all I look at users reviews.

1) Intel
2) a combination of all three

Brand: OCZ

Looking for: Performance, capacity, price, brand

1)  I would be willing to look at either OCZ or Intel.

2)  Which brand I purchase in an SSD is dependent on which is the best value at the time that I make my purchase when all features and specs are taken into account...I am very much willing to spend a small amount more if a particular drive's performance history is much better than a relatively closely priced competitor.

Kingston. I want a low price but with good performance
post #98 of 704
1. I am looking in to purchasing an Intel SSD.

2. I ideally am looking for reliability, however performance will be considered as well in regards to my next purchase.
1. Crucial, Kingston and Intel in that order

2. performance and reliability are the most important factors for me. I would rather pay $20 and get a reliable SSD, and of course performance because with the price paid I expect improved performance over HDDs

1. Intel, OCZ in that order!

2. Brand, RELIABILITY and STABILITY. My data is worth more than the dollar amount of the drive so it's gotta be reliable!
