A friend asked me to clean this laptop after a beer spill on the keyboard last week.
At that time pressing the power button did nothing at all so I pulled the back plate off and found the power button was stuck so I got it moving again.
At this time I had power back but no video. It booted to windows though as I could here the windows startup sound.
I disassembled the laptop, cleaned it and reassembled it and it booted to windows without the video again.
Then I pulled a dumb move and dropped the battery out while it was running ! I did'nt drop it from a great height though, only a few inches so I don't think I punished the battery.
Put the battery back in and it is dead as a doornail again. Won't start with or without the charger plugged in but it does charge the battery.
Any ideas what to look for?
