Screen size and resolution help needed, please!

Hi there!

I have old tired eyes so I'm trying to figure out what would be best for me.

I'm looking at the 17.3" Alien with 1660 native resolution and the 18.4" one with 1990 (or similar) resolution.  I would think a bigger screen would help but then when you have a smaller res, are you gaining anything??  (Often not using the native the res really looks bad so I'm not considering that)

I am confused what would ultimately be best (bigger) for me!

Thank you so much for any insight!

For your eyes? Take the larger machine and adjust the DPI (no need of changing resolution). For browsers you can aways use CTRL+Mouse scroll to zoom in and out the letters - Firefox has this NoSquint extension that works great with small screen and high resolution.

I'm on just 22" but probably going to something bigger still.

21-24" is perfect for eyes and head/neck movement - my opinion winknudge.gif

Thanks guys for your help.  smile.gif

I do have a large desktop monitor so I'm strictly talking laptop or notebook this time around.  The 18" Alien is HEAVY, though!  LOL! Not too portable... Decisions, decisions!

12"-14" notebooks for portability and stick in a nice large monitor when at the desk, my motto winknudge.gif
