Ferrari 3400 recovery disk

Thread Starter

I have been given a Ferrari 3400 notebook in very good condition that I would like to pass on to a needy pensioner. However windows needs reloading and I do not have the recovery disk. I have been to the acer website but it says the disk is no longer available.

The windows serial number sticker is on the bottom. I have tried to reload windows XP pro from an XP instillation disk but it will not accept the serial number from the sticker.

Anysuggestions on what I can do to get another e recovery disk or how I can reload windows so it accepts the serial number.

any help would be apreciated.

You probably need to get an activation code via phone support from Microsoft, simple procedure

Thanks,

The issue was that the retail XP instillation disk would not accept teh XP serial number ont he bottom of the notebook. I have contacted ACER and they no longer have the recovery disks available. So I Installed a new version of XP and downloaded the acer drivers. all is sweet now.

That is fine. All you need is calling up Microsoft phone activation service and they will give you a new activation code using your COA key underneath the notebook. Very straight forward, just follow the the (automatic) instruction over the phone
