Wireless adapter on P770D not responding to Linksys 3200 installation

Thread Starter

I have a new P770D Laptop and have been using a Linksys WRT54G for about 3 months.  I just bought an E3200 to replace it.  When I insert the Linksys disk it can't find an active wireless link. The antenna symbol (lower rt hand corner of kboard area is not lit. I press Fn +F8 but the only effect is  a blink from the HD led and nothing from the antenna symbol.  I check START>DEVICE MANAGER>NETWORK ADAPTERS and see an Atheros AR9002WB-1NG WNA, a Microsoft Virtual miniport adapter, and a Realtek PCIe FE adapter. All are working properly, although the Atheros seems to be the adapter of interest.  Can you help?

Why not just leaving the linksys out and use Windows Zero Configuration standard to take care of the connection?

Also delete the current wireless connection device and create a new one.

cheers ...
