m15x display wont work after upgrading from home premium to ultimate but i can use the external display port everything else works

If you boot up with the OS installation disk, would the display "work"?

i cant find the disk but i forgot to mention when i installed i had it hooked to the external display if that matters

Strange, but anything can happen. Can you go into display properties and choose different monitor as primary?

i will have to wait will i can get home to look at it when the install finished i couldnt get most of the drivers working i had to search the web for them from another computer to get online with it the only other thing that isnt working right now it the touch pad is thier a place where i can get the a alienware win 7 install disk to download and mount it to a disk im willing to do a fresh install if it will help
