Just in case:

I wonder if this has anything to do with Alienware's PC Gaming console? The same case design appeared in the recent issue of PC Gamer.

It does play games!!!

1. Record, pause, and play back live TV with a personal video recorder that works similar to a TIVO®.

2. Create your own digital library by recording, storing, and burning up to 5000 CDs and 235 hours of video.

3. Organize your favorite digital video and photos in a custom slideshow that you can share with family and friends.

4. Download on-demand movie titles and music through CinemaNow, Movielink™ and Napster™

5. Play games, chat online, surf the web, and email friends.

6. Work from home with Microsoft® Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other programs.

It does everything the AIW(All in wonder) does, and more. It has the DISCover system incorporated.

Oh thanks for clearing that up, I didnt see anything about the DISCover system on the site, and I was abit confused until now.

no it doesnt, it does tivo like functions, the AIW has features far beyond a tivo

The AIW's are nice, but to be honest I would rather use seperate cards. There is too much on the AIW cards to go bad considering how much you pay for them.

I have a 9700 AIW in one of my machines, what is it you think the AW machine is lacking?

AIW is ATi's All-In-Wonder version of a video card that has a tv tuner, inputs for video, can capture video directly to your hard drive and more. I use ours for recording signals from our satellite dish directly to hard drive. It has functions like tivo, so you can record shows and movies. And it is a full video card for gaming as well. We also put video we shoot into digital form.

Check this...

is this a good buy for casual gaming, such as battlefield 1942 and the sims 2 type games?? I am very interested in this system. I bought a eurocom (Alienware styled laptop) for the sole purpose of casual internet use and gaming.

can the dhs's video card be upgraded if needed just like a desktops? Is everything upgradable just like a home computer is what I am asking?

also wanted to know yall's opinion on the processor this system has.i know this is a question that has been posted time and time again, but how do you think it will act with this type of system. especially for gaming and multitasking.

also wanted to know if it would work on a wireless network through a router and card?

anyone ever hear of a company stretching itself into too many markets instead of perfecting one or two?

DAmn, I hate to post about a voodoo in an AW forum but the Vibe has all the features of a home entertainment system and a gaming system.

You keep the tower by the desk (where it belongs) to game on and the extender by the TV as a hub to control media.

Take a look at the Vibe

AW needs to come up something like this, but they probably won't to avoid "copy-cat" status.
