Windows 7 Home on a 2gig machine?

Hi All,

I have a Compaq Presario V6305NR laptop, that came with Vista, that I would like to upgrade to Windows 7. I would like to know what services/programs can I turn off to help Windows 7 run better on a laptop with only 2mb of Ram?

Thanks.

Windows 7 will typically run better than Vista on any machine. I am guessing that you have 2 gigabytes (not 2 megabytes) of RAM, and that will work fine for Windows 7. I have the same amount of RAM on my netbook, and it doesn't have any problems running Windows 7 Home Premium. No special tweaking or resource management required. smile.gif

Is it better to do a upgrade or a complete reinstall of Windows 7 Home?

Upgrade it - this way you don't have to run around for drivers and losing some special apps

cheers ...

Well, if ur vista partion is greater than 30 GB & free from viruses than u upgrate it but it is lesser than u have to fresh install.

There is no need for drivers in windows 7. If any driver is missing Windows 7 automatically download it through Windows update or u can manually run the windows update.

All the missing drivers are shown in Optional tab of windows update.
