Blue lines across netbook LCD

Hi all,

A buddy of mine has an Inspiron 1012 mini netbook. It has several horizontal blue lines across the entire LCD. They appear to be wavy, or to move like a progress bar. The colors are also off (i.e. the google homepage is light teal instead of white). I've tried reinstalling drivers ( I figured it was a hardware issue, but thought I'd give it a try), with no luck. It's really difficult to tell if they're present outside of XP, since the BIOS screens are blue themselves.

What is the most likely culprit? Inverter, LCD panel itself, or is it in the on-board graphics, or something else?

All answers apperciated... thanks in advance,

Justin

I actually haven't been able to try it on another display, we all have laptops.

Give it a shot. If it works correctly with an external monitor, then the notebook LCD is failing
