1) Nope. Capacity matters more to me, and macbook pros still don't have hybrid setups. Cost/gb is still way too high to switch over to SSD exclusively.

2) I'm not, really.

3) 2-3 years

4) U-S-A U-S-A U-S-A

No, I have not upgraded to the latest in HD technology yet. I would love to own one and definitely will purchase one in the near future (Unless I win one wink.gif)

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?

Considering Intel, OCZ. I consider reliability and performance the primary factors; I am willing to pay for quality

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?

Depends on when it starts to feel 'outdated'. I built my current rig 2 years ago

1) Unfortunately, I'm not a current owner of an SSD, but I've been aching to upgrade my gaming notebook with one since I purchased it over a year ago.

2) The brands that I've read good reviews for are Intel, Crucial, Corsair, OCZ, and Samsung, so those are top on my list. My purchase would be based first on reliability, followed by performance. Sure, I would love a large capacity SSD, but as long as it holds the OS and essential programs I want better performance with, then I would be happy. I am a graphic design student and own an MSI gaming laptop with 2 HD bays. It would be awesome to slap an SSD in there and throw the OS and Adobe software on it for some speedy productivity! Okay, okay.. and maybe a few games too.

3) I don't purchase as often as I'd like, but when I do I try to make sure the specs are generous enough to accommodate me for 3-4 years.

4) I'm not Canadian, but I might visit for the free health care! ;)http://www.notebookforums.com/t/239085/intel-cherryville-ssd-giveaway-enter-here#
post #135 of 635
1) No and yes.

2) Brand per se doesn't matter to me. What does matter is reliability and capacity. My current notebook hard drive is 320GB, and any replacement needs to have similar capacity.

3) New computer every 2-3 years (if it's still getting the job done, not much point in dropping my hard earned cash on a replacement).

1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?
Do not own one yet but am considering for a notebook.

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
Seagate hybrid for storage capacity/price

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
Over 3 years, usually build

1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?
Yes. I am planning to purchase one in my next laptop.
2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
I am considering Intel and Samsung. Available capacities, high performance, and the reputation for reliability are among the reasons those two brands are at the top of my list.
3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
12-18 months, sadly I am a habitual early adopter.
4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?
I'm American.

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)? Build my own - complete new build about every 2-3 years, depending on software load.
