No, and I haven't really thought about it.

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?

No, and I haven't really thought about it. Reliability is the biggest priority for me an because of that, a reputable brand is important.

Over 3 years normally.

1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?

Yes I have a Samsung 250GB SSD that came with my Alienware 15X laptop. I would like to purchase fairly soon for my other laptops.

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?

I would go for Intel for true SSD performance, but i would like to have more capacity. So price is also going to be a deciding factor, and so probably will be a Seagate hybrid SSD because of larger size and lower cost.

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?

Every 2- 3 years

4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?

1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?
Yes, but my current SSD is of a too small capacity! I plan to purchase one again when prices for them are significantly lower.

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
I believe in Intel and that it will outperform its competition in performance, reliability, and probably price, as Intel for processors is doing quite spectacular!

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
The last time I purchased a new PC was a year and a half ago, so about one to two years.

4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?

((125+45)/3)-13=43.6(with bar on top of 6)

An intel 100gig previuos gen (x25-m I think).

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
Intel, reliability and low power consumption are top priority. Would take that over faster, less reliable brands.

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
Probably every 2 years someone in the family is due an upgrade.

4) Not in Canada.

Barely: 4GB SSD in Dell Mini 9. May upgrade another netbook if SSD price is right

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
Intel, OCZ, Crucial, Corsair, Patriot
Should be a very noticeable performance increase over a spinning hard drive, but still a good value.

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
2-3 years

American...but using standard operator precedence, it's 127.

1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?
Yes...they are all 128 GB. Samsung 470 (budget) in a Dell Precision. Crucial m4 in an Acer SandyBridge budget notebook. Vertex 3 in a ThinkPad W520 (as cutting edge as I can afford). I triple-boot, but only on the Acer do I have all 3 OSes on the same SSD.

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
Intel, OCZ, Crucial, Corsair, Patriot
Huge performance increase; HDDs seem to be the performance bottleneck in a lot of applications at this point. Under the $200 price point is huge. I won't buy one that's less than 100 GB, but I can't afford any of the SSDs in the 256 GB range.

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
18-24 months.

Planning on purchasing one shortly

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
OCZ or Intel. In order of importance Reliability, performance, price.

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
About every 18 months to 2 yrs I build or buy a new desktop, about every 2 yrs buy a lappy.

4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?
Not Canadian Res.

1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?
I own two: (1) G.Skill Sniper 60GB and (2) SanDisk Ultra 120GB. The former is used externally for 'portable' apps, and the latter is stuffed into a secondary drive bay on a laptop. I doubt if I will purchase any more, rather I'll wait for a more reliable and less obsolescent(!) type of media to come along. I have platter drives that are 20 years old and still work, but I don't expect that to be the case for these two!

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
Not really much to add here....

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
I buy my hardware TO LAST: I focus on maximum progressive ability to upgrade and long term cost savings. I tend to keep the same motherboard in use, at least, for three years or more for that reason. Of course the CPU manufacturers (especially Intel) and motherboard makers have other ideas, but I fight them tooth and nail.

4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?
Too cold to live there! Maybe when global warming is in full swing....

1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?

- I own 2 SSDs in a RAID 0 array. Don't plan on purchasing any more until they drop in price a bit or my wife stops spending all my money smile.gif

- intel or Corsair

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?

1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?

Yes - I have the factory Apple SSD in my Macbook Pro. I am considering purchasing an additional one to go in my desktop as a boot disk

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?

I was looking into OCZ, Corsair and Intel. I'm mostly concerned with Speed and Price.

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?

I purchase a new pc around every 18-24 months.

4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?

I'm not Canadian, but I get 127 if you follow "rules of math". However the programmer in me say 43 2/3.

Thanks!

1) I do not currently own one, but I am planning on purchasing one or more in the next few months.

2) Based on current performance and price, I am leaning toward OCZ or Intel brand SSDs.

3) I have never purchsed an entirely new PC. I have been upgrading my PC depending on the release of new technology for the last 8 years.

1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?

I use a 120GB OCZ SSD in my office computer. I am planning on purchasing SSDs in the future for my personal computers.

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?

It would be a tie between OCZ and Intel being that both manufactures have models with excellent reviews for performance and reliability.

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?

I upgrade or rebuild my systems roughly every 2-3 years.

4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?

I am an American resident but in the spirit of ambiguous mathematical expressions I'll be a goob and compute it as
(125 + (45 / (3 - 13))) = 120.5
