1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?
I currently own 2 Intel SSD's. One in my tuning laptop and one in my home laptop. I'm thinking about building a gaming desktop so this would make the decision easier hehe.

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
I usually trust intel just because of the reliability which is more important to me and don't even both looking at other brands until something changes.

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
~4-5 years I would change a whole system, but occasionally upgrade things in between.

4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?
Why do the Canadians have to do the math question LOLOL, 127

1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?

I have a 30 GB OCZ Vertex which operates as a system drive

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?

I'd love to get an Intel 520 :-) - but honestly, I've not looked at new drives for the last months to keep up on what's the best.

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?

About every three years - but I tend to go big (2x Intel Nehalem 5520, 24 GB Ram, 8TB Disk) back in 2009.

4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?

1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?
  • Yes, and yes, many more!

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?

  • Intel
  • Crucial
  • Fusion-IO
Why:

Every computer I build, or purchase (laptops) I upgrade to a SSD in.
I also use SSD in my "home office" server for fast VMWare, and fast MySQL data processing.
I currently have a couple intels, and crucials, and I look for reliability and support over the very fastest out there.
PPerformance does matter, I don't like subpar products but performance does not overtake reliability.

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
At least once new system is built or purchased every 12 months.
Our leased hardware in the future will have SSD on them as well.

Thanks Intel, and NoteBookForums for putting this together smile.gif

1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?
My birthday is coming up in March, and I was thinking of getting one then...as a gift to myself. headbang.gif

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
I was considering Intel, Samsung, OCZ, Kingston, and Corsair. Most of these are brands I've had experience with (RAM) and have been happy. Samsung's in the mix because of recent reviews...but most importantly, I wand SPEED.

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
I build my own desktops, so it's hard to say. I am always incrementally upgrading the thing. I think the last components are just over a year old. I plan on buying a laptop in the not too distant future as well.

4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?
I live in Ohio, but could do the math? But, in doing so, I fear that I would miss some inside Canadian joke that would embarrass my humble state. blushing.gif
