Honestly, I haven't thought a whole lot about them because they're either too small or too pricey. However, I think they would be perfect for a netbook or even in a desktop computer as the main drive since bootup times could be greatly reduced and MTBF would be far greater than a regular hard drive.
2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
I don't know who all the manufacturers are since I'm not thinking about buying and since I'm not in the market for one. But, to me, price, performance and reliability are certainly more important than brand.
3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
While I've purchased an ASUS eeePC Transformer, a laptop and a netbook in the past 3-4 years, I have never actually bought a desktop PC. I have hand picked all the parts for my desktop PCs and assembled them myself. That way, as I see it, all the components are of top quality. However, in my experience, that's not always the case. Still, I like to know exactly what I've got in the box. The last two major updates in the past 3 years were a new motherboard, additional RAM and a new DVD RW drive.
4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?
127
1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?
No, I do not currently own a SSD. Yes, I'd like to purchase 1 or 2 SSDs to replace the dual 500GB 7200 RPM drives in my Dell XPS 17.
2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
I am considering Intel SSDs for performance and reliability; Samsung and Crucial SSDs for performance and price.
3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
I purchase a new PC (laptop) approximately once every 2-3 years.
4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?
I am American.
I currently do not own an SSD. I am planning on buying one for my macbook pro.
2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
Probably a 120G Vertex 3 for about ~$180. While reliability is a concern, The speeds matter more to me.
3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
About once every 2 years.
4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?
Not canadian but 127.
1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?
Yes - I own 2
2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
I'm looking at Corsair because of performance. I'd rather have Intel because of the simplicity of cloning with the software provided.
3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
2-3 years
4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?
I'm not Canadian, but the answer is 43.667 processing from left to right. It would be 127 if you divide 45 by 3 before adding to 125.
2) Only investigating a little. Price/gig is the big issue, brands most of the major ones. Like any computer purchase its all about finding something that fits the budget and performance/reliability for the project I'm working on.
3) Recently PC purchases have been 2-3 years or even a little more. Though I'll do upgrades to existing ones along the sometimes too.
2) Intel for speed and Reliability, OCZ as a secondary because they offer the Octane that have sizes upwards of 500 GIG. (hope to see the 1TB soon) and they have competitive prices.
3) I build a new PC about 18-24 months
4) I live in the US

2) I am considering Intel and Crucial. These are my only considerations because of the warranty length they offer (3 years or longer) and their speed with non-compressible data over time.
3) My computer is upgraded at least every 18 months.
4) I live in the US.

I have had several SSD's and I have an SSD as my OS drive right now. I will always use an SSD as my OS drive, as they are badass.
2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
Generally Intel, but I would try another brand if PCMag gave it a good review.
3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
I generally purchase a new laptop every 1-2 years for personal use. I purchase all of the hardware & software for my company, which is continuing to grow every year.
4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?
LOL
I own three, but 1st and 2ng gen models only. Yes, I would like to buy, or even better, WIN a 3rd gen SSD.
2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
I have an OCZ (would not recommend as it has not been reliable), an Intel (still going strong), and one that came inside my Mac Mini (Samsung?).
3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
I have two college age kids so we probably cycle through computers once every 18 months or so.

2) I'm not a brand ho. I evaluate based on price/reliability/performance. Intel does have a good SSD track record so far.
3) Need a new laptop now. Also support two college students that always seem to need new tech :>O
4) Canadians? Seriously?
No. No, more like long term.
2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
N/A, but would favor Kingston and Crucial.
3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
3-4 years
No, Yes
2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
Haven't really started looking yet.
3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
3-5 years
4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?
Not Canadian, but 43.666666666666667:o
No. Yes, my mechanical HDD's are slowing down over time and really need an upgrade. Defragged, optimized, and still slow.
2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
OCZ for speed and possibly Intel for maximum reliability.
3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
I upgrade parts here and there as I go. My last 2 complete rebuilds were 3-4 years apart.
4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?
I am an American and this question does not computer

No, I don't own any SSDs. I would love to buy one though, but as a parent, in an expensive part of the country, it comes after food and clothes and stuff, maybe if my bonus is big enough in March, I'll get one.
2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
Intel, Crucial, Kingston, and OCZ. With no direct experience with SSDs, I'm pretty much going by the "Best Rating" filters on sites like amazon and newegg.
3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
over 3 years. my current pc is a 3 year old white macbook, but I'm dang near saved up for a new one.
ps. if I was Canadian, I would have added: 4) 127
2) Probably either Intel or Corsair, depending mostly upon reviews and company reputation
3) I'll purchase a new PC about every 4 years. Desktops I build myself. Current notebooks are Lenovo and Dell.
4) Sorry, not Canadian - grandparents moved south tp Massachusetts. If they hadn't, I'd say 127 by the normal precedence rules. Besides, that way gives an integer result.
--I don't currently own a SSD, but I would like to purchase one in the future if I could afford it!
2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
--Currently I would purchase an Intel or Crucial SSD, based on reliability and brand trust/recognition for the price.
3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
--I usually purchase a new computer every 18-24 months, depending on money (hey, college isn't cheap!) and the longevity of my current PC at the time.
4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?
--I live in the USA, and I can't do math (kidding!)
2. Yes I am considering Intel SSDs for reliability; I am also considering Samsung for price.
3. I have purchased three (3) Dell (two 15r's and one XPS 14z) in the past year. Two daughters in school one Collage, one High School. Normally one plus a year.
4. Born in Trumann, Arkansas. USA.
Thank you for this contest. Intel is a super business to help all the world.

Yes. Probably.
2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
Intel. It is what I currently have, and is reliable and fast!
3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
Over 3 years.
