1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?
Yes, I own two Crucial M4 512gb SSD's. I plan on buying another SSD in the near future to upgrade my Macbook Pro.

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
Crucial M4 and Samsung 830's, based on performance, reliability, and brand per recommendations I read in the forums and on Amazon.

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
Every 2 years for myself, but considering second-machines and buying for others, every year.

PS: I have about 30 drives used for backups, and I upgrade my primary computer drives every 6 months or so.

4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?
Not a Canadian resident, but technically in the absence of brackets, one should perform multiplication or division first, thus divide 45 by 3 first, getting 15, and then work left to right, so 125 - 15 = 110, then - 13 = 97.

1) No I do not own one. I will purchase one as soon as I can. It's on the list.

2) I have no experiences with any other brands. I have installed two Intel SSD's. One in a mac book, another in a Windows laptop. Very impressed.

3) 2-3 years

4) I am south of Canada and North of Mexico dance2.gif

My work laptop has a SSD and my personal machine has hybrid drives. Probably not in a near future, at some point I want to replace my 2x500gb hybrid setup with a 240gb SSD and a 1 TB HDD.

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
Intel, OCZ - those are the brands I have experience with. Intel for the quality, OCZ for the price

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
Every 18-24 months

1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?

No I don't currently own one, I have been wanting to buy one for a while but price has been prohibitive.

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?

I am considering on purchasing one when I build my next desktop, the brands I was considering are: Crucial, Samsung, and Intel. The things that I take into consideration are most importantly price, then read and write speeds, thirdly would be product reviews about reliability and performance.

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?

Generally I purchase a new computer every 4 - 5 years, that is usually when the one I have gets to the point of needing to be replaced.

No, I do not currently own an SSD. I was certainly looking into buying one, just waiting for the right time.

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?

Intel, since the majority of the people I listen to actually uses Intel and say good things about the performance and reliability.

1) I do not currently own a SSD, nor do I own any computers which contain one. All of my PC's currently contain mechanical hard drives. I am considering buying SSD's for my laptop and netbook when the prices and performance improve.

2) If I was buying a SSD, as with a mechanical hard drive, I would consider performance, expected reliability, warranty coverage, and price. For SSD's, I would probably stick with one of the better brands such as Crucial, Kingston, Samsung, or Intel. I would not buy one of the "no-name" brands, which I have never heard of before.

3) I usually keep a desktop for 5 to 6 years, and a laptop for 2 to 3 years. A good quality desktop can be upgraded and should remain functional for many years. A laptop cannot be kept as long, because it starts to wear out from heavy use. Also, it is not economical to upgrade a laptop, other than perhaps adding RAM.

4) I am a U.S. citizen.

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)? It would be between Crucial and Intel, both for their reliability.

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)? Every 2-3 years.

1) No I don't currently own any SSD's. I have been wanting one for a while now, but the prices are a little much for me.

2) Intel, samsung, ocz, are some of the brands I've looked at. Price and reliability being the most important to me.

3) Usually every 4 years or so.

4) From the USA.

1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?
I do currently own one, a Crucial M4 128 GB model. I do plan on getting another one at some point soon.

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?
I would consider an Intel if I had the money to do it. They have a good reputation all around from what I have read and seen. I would readily buy another Crucial. The price is cheaper but the drives have great performance and are reliable (as far as I'm concerned at least).

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?
Depends on how much money I have available. Usually once a year at least.

4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?
I'm from the US. The answer is 127 though.

1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?

- I own 2, a Kingston 32 Gb and a Crucial 64 Gb. I bought them a while ago when the price was about £2 per Gb. I'm finding the capacities rather small now.

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?

- I use Intel motherboards and CPUs and have been pleased with them, so now I know Intel are in the SSD market, I'd consider one of their SSDs next time.

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?

- Over 3 years. As my last PC (E6700 Core 2 Duo) CPU) is over 3 years old, I'm hoping to upgrade to an Core i series CPU PC soon.

YES PLEASE!

1) I own a very basic 32GB OCZ just for the OS of my comp. It's slow (an early models, but faster than my Seagates.
I am indeed considering a new SSD for this year.

2) I'm starting to consider an SSD again; & the bigger the better so it's more than my OS running fast..
My short list is what ever is on sale. Whatever I get capacity is 2nd, then performance.

3) I build a PC every 2 to 3 years, with some component updates occasionally.

1) Do you currently own an SSD? Are you planning on purchasing one or more in the near future?

Yes, I own an Intel SSDSA2CW120G3. It's a fairly new computer, so I do not plan on buying another one anytime soon.

2) If you’re planning on purchasing an SSD, which brand(s) are you considering and why (price, performance, reliability, brand, etc.)?

If I were planning on purchasing another one, I would again choose Intel. I did a lot of research in choosing it this time, and am confident I chose the best one currently available.

3) How often do you purchase a new PC (every 12 months or less, every 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, over 3 years)?

I usually purchase a high-end computer so it lasts at least 3 years. The one I recently replaced was one I had for 3-1/2 years.

4) [Canadian residents] What is 125 plus 45 divided by 3 minus 13?

Not Canadian, but the answer depends on the order of operations, and there is no clear indication here.

If it is:

125 + (45/3) - 13 = 127

But if it is:

(125 + 45) divided by 3, minus 13 = 43.66666...

And if it is:

(125 + 45) divided by (3-13) = -17

Or, if it is:

125 + (45/[3 - 13]) = 120.5

I think those are all the possible solutions.
