M11xR2 "Plugged in, Charging" but NOT charging.

Thread Starter

Ok, so this is really annoying. Today the battery died because it wasn't plugged in an when i got it plugged in and turned it on, it would no longer charge. It says "Plugged in, charging" but won't go past 2%. In BIOS it says its set to charge, and that charging is enabled. I haven't tried pulling the battery out yet because i don't have a small enough screwdriver to get the back off. I've updated my bios. I have no idea what to do. Any help appreciated.

Don't know any other way myself other than taking the battery out, letting it sit for while and plug in it back

cheers ...

Not sure if you are still having issues with this and not sure if this will help but try un-installing the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery item and allowing the laptop to reinstall it after reboot. You can find this:

1- right click on the "Computer" icon and go to properties ( or go to Control Panel "System")

2- click on "Device Manager"

3- expand the "Batteries" tab to see a list of devices unde that control

4- right click and choose 'Un-install" follow through till it is removed from the list

5- reboot you computer

6- once back into windows, it should try to automatically re-install it, if not follow the steps to get back into Device Manager and scan for hardware changes

7- once it returns, see if your system tray icon for the battery/power is correctly showing if it is plugged in, charging, and what percentage battery remains if you unplug the ac adapter.
