A65 Satellite runs on battery only, won't recognize power cord

I have an A65-S1362. It has a power problem. I changed the System board and both fans. I tested the power supply. First the laptop wouldn't start or charge with or without the battery installed.

Without the battery, The green light would come on but go out when the power button is pushed. The charging yellow led will come on and stay on for at least an hour but then all LEDs except the green power on will go out. After diddling the connectors by the power switch, I got the computer to start with all three LEDs on and it would stay running for an hour or so but the battery indicator would come on on the screen toolbar and then a Extreme low battery warning came on then the laptop shut down with no LEDs showing. It stayed this way until it cooled down, then an hour or so later it showed the power light again and started  charging.

I really hate to buy a new battery as it just seems to be another swag and probably won't fix it either. Does anyone have any ideas? This is not an isolated problem according to all the postings I have read.

It will not run without the battery in place. I charged the battery full and it only lasts 30 min so I have ordered a new battery and a new power supply. Only thing left is a processor.

Hopefully a new battery and power adaptor will fix the issue

Well, at least you guys read it....PS. The new power supply did the job. The old one was up to specs on a meter including clean DC, but the Laptop wouldn't run on it? Anyhow it is in the round file and the new one works fine...
