Okay, so i want an alienware laptop. The only problem is, I am on a budget. The two I am considerig are the m9750 (m15), and the m500. How are they

I Meant m5550. How coule the handle games like skyrim? Do they take upgrades well? I heard the m975 (aurora?) has some issues

So both of these models are used systems? Not sure if they can handle Skyrim nicely

There is not so much upgrades in these good old models that would put you in the league with the latest gaming machines supporting newest games

Not even with 4 gigs of ram and a core 2 duo? Can you name some other "cheap" alienware models, that might be worth looking at? Are there any other worthwhile alienware desktops other than the aurora and the x51? Cheers smile.gif

Alienware is not cheap in general, that would kill their brand laugh4.gif

Haha yeahsmile.gif. My budget is 850 or bellow. I was told to look at the m17 and m14 (older models). What do you think

m14x can be a good choice, 850 not gonna cut it unless you can be patient for a month or 2 or lucky to get a (used) deal somewhere

Okay. How is the x51's performance. I am looking at the 600 model, but what could i get for around 850 (from the alienware website)? what about good moniter

Specifications look good - but you are not gonna the mid-range model for 850. And a good monitor (dell 24" per example) would push the price way over 1K

Okay. I am considering the m14x heavily now. I have a monitor lying around I can use, until I get a good one. Decisions decisions

I saw a couple of dell ultrasharps on ebay for around 100. Might look into those
