My new laptop isnt upto it!

Hi all
Bought a sony vaio and when i played battlefield 3 (cd) campaign mode the gamplay is very jerky at lowest setting;the laptop specs are:
I7 2670qm
8mb ram
500hdd
Gforce gt540m

Is there anything i can do to run battlefield 3 smoothly?

Oh yeah it has 2gb dedicated graphics memory!!

Is everything up to date and with game patches? Try playing with lower settings? Antivirus slowing system down?

Sorted now i can play battlefield 3 at high detail and hd screen settings no problems..how?...simple..went to cp-power options and selected high performance.well proud of this laptop .cheers
