NBF MobileForce 295.73 (32-Bit / 64-Bit) - Page 2

Well, apparently the STOCK version of these drivers even give problems like what I described to quite a lot of people. Just doing a search, or checking nVidia's forums, brings up numerous results. Guess they just don't like some peoples' systems (also mainly seems to be a problem on Windows 7 x64). I went back to the previous drivers I was using, and all is well.

Interesting, I do have Windows 7 64-bit on the Sony. And I just installed the latest driver on top of the previous NBF Mobile Force winknudge.gif

Looks like 296.35 WHQL is out. Maybe I'd have better luck with that driver? Any plans to test this one out with the ol' bag o' tricks, Tony? winknudge.gif

Getting up to a certain point a notebook graphic card would not be able to take newer graphic driver

Well, even BETTER: Unified Verde 301.24 Betas are out now! Woo!

Just installed them. They didn't seem to work right the first install, so I just reinstalled again and they worked fine. So far no crashes or anything. Good to see Adaptive V-Sync in there for my now-ancient 9800M GTS! dance2.gif

Not really liking the 301.24 betas in the fact that some text is blurred to all hell, some isn't. Seems 2D quality took a bit of a dive in these... I even tried redoing Cleartype, but it didn't help. Other than that, it has been stable.

I'll make a new set when NVIDIA stops releasing crap drivers, which, who knows when that'll happen.

Seems like every new release for the past year has been nothing but adding new problems and not fixing things. I'd like to know what the hell happened to the NVIDIA that had the golden standard for drivers. When NVIDIA users could laugh at ATi users because their drivers were crap, but now, it seems like the situation is reversed. I miss those old days.

We need drivers like they were with 81.87, 94.20, 97.92, 169.04...
OMG, I used 97.92 for a LOOOONG time, LOL! Those were epic! headbang.gif

Yep, and I wish they'd get back to making drivers like that.

301.42 is garbage. Lots of people complaining about terribad performance with them (on Fermi and up, since they apparently can't figure out NVIDIA's clock domains, which is hilariously bad coding). I also had major problems with them on my desktop (which now has a GTX 550 Ti, which EVGA replaced my 9800 GTX with). My monitor refused to come out of power save mode when it went into it, and when I rebooted my comp, I had to unplug my monitor in order for it to work. I mean, that's just horrible. Switching back to 285.79 netted me no problems.

I just think that aliens must have abducted their old, good driver team. No other real explanation for it. The hardware is there, but the software isn't.

you're right, they're not very good sad.gif but at least they've been updating them sad.gif

.. and creating more problems as stated laugh4.gif

I agree with Fenuxx, software people always run behind hardware folks winknudge.gif

no new driver, not even beta. but I'm not too dissatisfied, with the notable exception of OpenGL performance. that's awful.

Just in case anyone had the idea to ask, 304.48 is still crap. Same bugs as previous drivers, and even some new ones. The wait continues...

They kept saying of performance improvement with each driver update though headscratch.gif

I downloaded and installed the driver, reboot the laptop monitor is black! OS that is loaded, and the screen is black. Before this was installed the modified driver nVidia Geforce v285.38 and it worked correctly, and it worked correctly, but the driver "NBF MobileForce 295.73" can not normally be established. pressing f8 does not appear to boot from OS (installed Vista), can be reinstalled OS?

Try F10, and then F12 ... if these don't work, time to re-install the OS
