Acer 6530g broken - arcade deluxe issues

Hi all

I am new to this forum so please be nice!. I have a problem with my Acer 6530g. Firstly the screen got broken, so I purchased a new one and fitted it myself. All was fine but the screen would lose power intermittently.Eventually it turned out to be a transformer for the actual screen. To cut a long story short I sent the screen back with the plan to just use the HDMI out on my laptop connected to the TV. Only problem is the power button now no longer works. The caps lock, num lock and power up lights around the button work fine. The only way that I can power up the laptop is via arcade deluxe, and there seems to be no way of getting around this - exiting it only hibernates the machine? I am at the end of my teather! Is there any way to get into windows by opening arcade deluxe first without power button use?

Any help is much appreciated as its still a great laptop (well was anyways)

All the best

Jon

Arcade Deluxe is software is it not? How would you access it without the computer being on?

Hi

It is accessed via the arcade deluxe button (small picture of a stick man jumping on the right hand side of the laptop) with is one of those touch sensitive ones. Touching this launches arcade deluxe.

Did you check and see if there is a LCD switch that would make the notebook think that the lid is still close, thus the power button would not work?

Hello thanks for the reply

I have stripped the laptop down and the cables to the screen and power inverter for it are removed.the hinges are in the open position as well now and still there is no joy?I have purchased a new power button in the vain hope that it is that that's the problem .

Any more ideas -any suggestions will help?

Many thanks

Wonder if your Acer Power Managements settings may have been tampered with thusly diverting the powering up via Arcade Deluxe
