Any Recommendations?? Need Ultrabook with IVY BRIDGE & 15 INCH Screen & 1600x900+ Resolution

Only one thats on my radar is the New Samsung Series 9 - 15 Inch screen Version

I want to get one in the next 2-3 MONTHS MAX, I would buy the new Samsung Series 9 (15 INCH VERSION), but since IVY Bridge is gonna start being released end of April or May, I might as well wait.

Requirements

ULTRABOOK SIZE AND WEIGHT UNDER 3.5 LBS

SSD - (NO HYBRIDS LIKE ACER WITH SSD + HD) - 128 GB IS FINE

15 Inch DISPLAY (I KNOW THERES MANY 13.3 INCH, I WANT 15 INCH)

1600x900+ Resolution - (I cannot deal with 1366x768, I just bought a DM3050US at a Great Price, But Returning, I noticed that every higher resolution display was making me go up in price, so I might as well spend it on what I really WANT!)

NEW IVY BRIDGE PROCESSOR (ANY SPEED IS FINE)

What Should I be on the lookout for and any updates on when it will be released.

MAXIMUM BUDGET IS $1800

***I KNOW WHAT I AM ASKING FOR IS NOT OUT YET, BUT GETTING MY HOMEWORK DONE ASAP SO I CAN KNOW WHAT I WANT, I REALLY NEEDED A LAPTOP TODAY, BUT WILL USE MY OLD ONE FOR ANOTHER 2-3 MONTHS***

Can't recommend something that - like you mentioned - is not even out yet. Every manufacturer is toying with 15" ultrabooks, trying to catch up with Apple

They are good, price should be dropped more now. Just to be sure you have good after-sales support from where you are

I have one problem with inspiron 14Z...the dedicated graphics card version in particular wink.gif. Who with the right mind would buy anything with nVidia GT630m? That's pretty much rebadged 540 and to support this claim I am just going to mention the benchmark lists of many other websites ohmy.gif
Other then that design and battery life seem to be up to par with current trends. Price is also comparable to the rest of the IT world retail. BUT again...in the age of Kepler based GPU (e.g. nVidia 640m etc.) manufactured using next gen. technology resulting in vast increase in performance while decreasing or at least maintaining the power drain of the previous less capable offerings, paying anywhere over $1000 for 630m or AMDs 7700 or below is plain madness.. The cherry is actual size of the chip that allows turning anything with Kepler inside into media powerhouse...I mean media 3D wink.gif

Hope this rant will help someone to decide... huh.gif

Yep ... and they are dropping in prices like crazy laugh4.gif Dell is selling Alienware 14x for barely over $1K at the moment

cheers ...
